Hiking with Dad

Monday was a holiday. By miracle both the kids and Kevin were off. Kevin decided to get them out of the house for a bit so that I could #1 have some "me" time and #2 to knock out some time on the taxes. I spent a lovely morning playing volleyball with some ladies from the ward and then came home pulled out the laptop and boxes of papers. Poured myself a cup of cocoa and got to work.

I don't mind taxes but I wish I could have gone with them...

Working

With the weekend comes weekend projects. With mom's new fridge came the need to move the light switch. The kids were totally fascinated with the ladder up to the atic. They thought that it should be made into their clubhouse, it just needed all the itchy stuff taken out. HA!

Stuff

Okj, so whan we moved i was stressed and did not do as good a job as I could have in organizing our belongings into what should come to my parents and what could be stored. There are several things that went into storage that I dearly wish had not. In november I suggested that iI wanted to go down to the storage unit and retirieve a few things. I was met with looks of death. Dad told me that he would rather buy Lily new clothes than go searching for the box of hand-me-downs. Thankfully we scored at the thrift store because Lily has grown and the storage unit looks like this.

And the door is not even open all the way.

I really should have gotten a shot from further back to show the full size of the storage unit. It is about 15' feet high and packed to the ceiling in the back. There is 3 families stuff in the shed, not just ours. Yup that is my story and I am sticking to it.

Kevin decided that he HAD to look for something in the shed. So we trooped over there on one of his days off and opened it up. We crawled around a bit and didn't find what he was looking for. He even had George crawling down in a small space to check under the desk. I didn't find any boxes of clothes. We did find a few odds and ends including the hiking backpack so that is good. :)

Silly Girls

I have been watching my niece several days a week. It has been so fun to watch the girls play together. George has been a huge help too. Having two babies in the house that don't walk has been crazy. Tif, you are an amazing woman! It is totally doable, just crazy. We have even made it to the library a couple times and the grocery store. As hard as it is to carry them both places, I'm not sure what I will do when Lily walks and Bri crawls.







We took pictures yesterday, I tried to get one of them together, but they were way more interested in the background than looking at me. They did ok individually, but together, not so much. We will try another day.

Lily was not to into the whole photo thing at all, but decided the best place to be was on top of me while I laid on the floor. first on my legs, then scooted up to my bum, then by the time I took this picture she was on my shoulder (hence the blur) I gave up when she sat on my head.

Sleep

When we first moved in with mom and dad things were really hectic. I focused first on making sure that everybody had a place to sleep and a place to put their clothes. Seems silly, but for some reason those were the things I focused on. About 3 weeks ago George decided that he no longer wanted to sleep on his bed. He has a nice bed, a full, big down comforter, fluffy pillows. All to himself. Where does he want to sleep? On the floor. Every night for about a week this is where I would find him.




I give up. I fixed him a pallet on the floor and that is where he sleeps. The bed is home to stuffed animals and well what ever else needs a home at the moment. Kevin says that he used to like to sleep in the floor too.

Another George story:
I folded laundry then headed off to do other things leaving the kids to put away their piles. A 1/2 hour or so later I went to put something away in the room that George and Lily share. Right in the doorway is George's stack of clothes. I found him and asked him to redo his job. His response? "What? you saw that?" Of course I did goofball, now go do the job right!

Hiccups

Apparently the hiccups were going around the other day. Lily had them, Kevin had them, George couldn't sleep because of them, and apparently we passed them all the way to the Anderson house.

Mandie's computer got them too. It got so mad it won't let her back into her blog.
