Weekend Visitors

Last weekend we had a housefull of visitors that were in town for Will's blessing. Mom dad and Amanda came, and brought along with them,Grandma Thomas, Uncle Jim, Aunt Lori and Aunt Sue. We had a blast hanging out and even made a trip to the pool. Before they took off we were able to snap a few group shots.Grandma, the kids and Jim&Lori

Lunch today

I have been trying to catch up on the blog and get through the back log of pictures I have. After Church I sat down and tried to upload a few things and set the kids to making their own sandwiches for lunch. They usually do a great job of this. I finished uploading a set and walked into the kitchen to check up on George. He was making his own sandwich all right. Peanut butter, chocolate chips and brown sugar. According to him that is what Mallory had also. Sigh.......

Father's day visitor

For Father's Day Kevin received a hammock. A place to read stories, rest and relax. That became somewhat questionable the first time he tried it out. He was laying in the hammock, eyes closed and enjoying the afternoon after the lawn was mowed. He felt something hit the hammock. After prying his eyes open to the sunshine he spotted what he thought was a big brown leaf. Then the leaf started to move. It was a Bat! He said he rolled out of the hammock faster that was probably smart. That of course startled the bat, which then flew to a shady spot under the grill. No idea what it was doing out in the middle of the afternoon.
Not a terribly relaxing sight.

Trip to Zoo

A friend and I took the kids to the zoo to occupy a summer morning. The weather was a bit chilly, but it turned out fantastic. I have never seen this much activity from the animals as we did today. The kids actually got to interact with them some which was really fun.

Buddies in the Tunnel

This tiger was napping. The other kept trying to get it to come and play. It was bounding from one end of the enclosure to the other. Finally it came and took a rest next to Mallory.

Capital Classic

Both girls ran the Capital Classic this year. A one mile race! Both did great. It was a perfect day for running. Cool and sunshine peeking in and out between the clouds.

Ready to run

Mallory didn't even see me on the sidelines

Courtney was all smiles.

Kindergarten Graduation

The kids all recited a cute sunflower poem. They recived thier diplomas.

And photo with Mrs. Smith. She has been an awesome teacher. I'm sad that she will be going to a new school next year. :( I really hoped that George and Lilly would get to have her too someday.

Mallory was both 1st Duck and The Old Woman. It was really cute.

Scout Wrap up

We had the Daddy/Daughter dance. Kevin was down for the count with a nasty cold so I took the girls. They had a blast be-boping to the oldies and filling up on cake.

We had an end of the year scout picnic and awards evening. The girls had a blast. It has been such a wonderful year with these girls.
