Sleep

When we first moved in with mom and dad things were really hectic. I focused first on making sure that everybody had a place to sleep and a place to put their clothes. Seems silly, but for some reason those were the things I focused on. About 3 weeks ago George decided that he no longer wanted to sleep on his bed. He has a nice bed, a full, big down comforter, fluffy pillows. All to himself. Where does he want to sleep? On the floor. Every night for about a week this is where I would find him.

I give up. I fixed him a pallet on the floor and that is where he sleeps. The bed is home to stuffed animals and well what ever else needs a home at the moment. Kevin says that he used to like to sleep in the floor too.

Another George story:
I folded laundry then headed off to do other things leaving the kids to put away their piles. A 1/2 hour or so later I went to put something away in the room that George and Lily share. Right in the doorway is George's stack of clothes. I found him and asked him to redo his job. His response? "What? you saw that?" Of course I did goofball, now go do the job right!

Hiccups

Apparently the hiccups were going around the other day. Lily had them, Kevin had them, George couldn't sleep because of them, and apparently we passed them all the way to the Anderson house.

Mandie's computer got them too. It got so mad it won't let her back into her blog.

Please please please visit her at her new address.

Lily is ONE!!

I'll be back to regularly posting soon.

I think we are on the mend. Slowly. This past week my mom was babysitting for some friends that went on a cruise. That gave us a total of 8 children and 4 adults in the house. The kids are all great and get along well so that was no problem. Then one got sick, stayed home from school, then seemed to be better. Wheww thought that we had scrapped by. That next night though, holy cow. 5 little girls all throwing up. At least the 4 oldest could hold bowls. Lily.... Lily... Lily. At least hers was the least disgusting I guess. One after another took turns, Mom and I taking care of them. Only the girls seemed to get it. The boys were all fine. Where were Kevin and dad? Oh they both worked the night shift the night all the kids were sick, and were trying to sleep the next day while I took care of the 6 kids at home, and myself. Yup, I managed to come down with it too. The older kids seem to be on the mend, the extras have gone home. Dad took Mallory, Courtney and George on an Adventure today so that I could rest while Lily does. As long as I remember to take some advil and some liquids I do much better. Hydrateing for 2 is rough!

Christmas

This is a totally and completely gratuitous Christmas post. It you don't want to see pictures of my kids opening presents, just click "mark as read" and move on.
I can post way more pictures here though than I can email to grandparents.
"The stockings were hung by the chimney with care"

Anxious to come upstairs.

Lee, Leesh and Bri

Lily of course had to get in on the action and see what everybody was up to

Santa left a note for the kids.
Led them on a scavenger hunt all over the house and outside.

At the end they found a Wii.

Opening presents

I can't remember what Lily got on her, but she got dirty and it was quite warm so my little nudist finished opening presents like this. Didn't bother her one bit. :)

We have a looker! After 2 months on the market we finally had someone actually come and look at the house. Cross your fingers and toes for us. There is an open house this weekend too.

I love this man

He is a wonderful husband. We had a fight the other day. Nothing major, just a tiff, just the result of the stresses of life. We talked it out, moved on and that was it. Or so I thought. He had gone out for a bit and came back with one of these. Oreo with Fudge.

Not roses, not jewelry, ice cream, chocolate ice cream. And a few minutes by myself to decompress. I think I'll keep him.
